Stick To Your Fitness Goals

Stick To Your Fitness Goals

Many people aspire to get fit but sadly few actually follow through with their fitness goals for the long-term. It is important to be as healthy as possible to maintain a healthy body mass index and avoid contracting any obesity related illnesses. Here are some tips to help you stick to your fitness goals.

Get Support from Others

Some people think that they have to get fit all by themselves but this is not the case whatsoever. Get support from others by asking your spouse, kids, friends, family members and even co-workers to join in on your fitness routine. The more positive support that a person has the more likely they are to follow a routine on a daily or weekly basis.

Make Time for Fitness

Make a daily appointment schedule and pencil in a half hour to one hour of exercise at least three days per week. This is a great way to visually see that you want to stick to your goals.

Set Realistic Fitness Goals

People often set unrealistic fitness goals. It is important to set achievable goals because if you do not then the process becomes frustrating. Start small such as lose five pounds in six weeks.

Pace Yourself

Some people become frustrated in themselves because they feel that their work outs are too hard. You should pace yourself by just walking or jogging for 25 minutes to a half hour each day. You have to want to be fit. If the motivation is not there then it is hard to reach those fitness goals.

Plan Fun Work Outs

People can burn calories by doing many different things. It is important to have a fun routine or you will get bored. Try mixing things up by swimming, jogging, doing tae-bo, dancing and even boot camp.

Workout When You Feel Energetic

Some people feel pressured to work out and make excuses that they are too tired to workout. Make sure to pencil a work out at times when you feel very energetic. For example, some people feel energized right after work or during their lunch hour so make sure to time your workouts with your moods and energy levels.
Keep a Journal

Keeping a journal of your fitness goals is a great way to achieve them. Track your daily progress by measuring your calorie intake and calories burned through exercise. Weigh yourself every two weeks so that you do not get discouraged if no weight loss is achieved. Some people especially young women weigh different amounts during the month due to hormonal and body changes. It is best to just focus on staying positive so that the goals are met.
